Sorry to hear about the passing away of Robbie.  He was a larger than life character as I recall from time on the Ocelot (80/82).

Thoughts are with his family.

Glad to see his funeral was well attended...I would've been there if I'd know...it's always good to meet up with old friends...I would've even bought the beers!!

Regards to all

I attended Robbie's funeral on Tuesday just gone(26th). I spoke with his ex wife Morag & his two kids Jamie & Amanda at the wake in the Ardencaple Hotel afterwards, he died in his sleep from a massive heart attack, contrary to the stories the Helensburgh rumour mill were churning out. There was a very good turn out & also a few old faces there from Ocelot & Porpoise, Dicky Sawkins, Big Windy Breeze, Brian Gardiner, Jim Park, & Joey(Black Joe) Cotterill were there, nice to see them all after all these years, pity it couldn't have been under happier circumstances. Needless to say we had a bit of a session, a few good laughs especially when his daughter Amanda got all the old photo albums out, just hope we all keep in touch again now & not have to wait for a similar sad occassion before we have another get together.

Passed away on 30th December. Robbie, also affectionately known as "Zipneck" served with me onboard HMS/M Ocelot 1980/81, he also served a second term on there from 1985/1989.
