An interesting development in what is probably the biggest democracy on the planet. The removal of threats to the country is s good idea but without trial is questionable. As pointed out in the article mistakes can be made as with the death penalty. Also trigger happy individuals have been known to shoot first. It raises the question, how many would be terrorists have been granted citizenship and move freely wherever they wish.
The margin for error is another point made in the article as with the underpants affair where,it appears, the name was spelled wrongly allowing the person access to the US with his dangerous cargo. It does seem these situations are allowed to develop with the numbers of potential problems granted entry and citizenship and then the way to cause trouble.

Death sentences without trial – a possibility for US citizens

Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair has confirmed US forces are authorized to kill American citizens abroad.
" Speaking before the House Intelligence Committee, Blair acknowledged President Obama is continuing what some say is a Bush-era policy authorizing the killing of citizens if they are considered a terrorist threat to the United States".
